Old School Section Title
Campus Life - 1965

The back of this 1965 archive photo simply notes: “Quaking freshmen watched as sophomores paraded into the Quad.” Could this have been Rat Day? By the 1960s, the day involved sophomores requiring freshmen to do their bidding — usually some kind of campus beautification project done in rat ears and bibs — and ended with an evening party and a bonfire. Do you know what was going on at the time of this picture? Or do you have some UNCG traditions — official or unofficial — that you remember fondly? We would love to hear about them.
