Dancing Above the Barre is in its fourth year with the Greensboro Ballet. What started as a single class of eight girls with special needs has grown into three separate classes with a total of 24 boys and girls. The class is a chance for children with disabilities — ranging from cerebral palsy to Down syndrome — to live out a dream of becoming a dancer.

As an RA at UNCG, Joe Scott hosted movie screenings. Soon folks from other dorms started showing up. Then folks from off-campus. Now the Mixed Tape curated film series has a bunch of “happenings” under its belt.

Aside from a love of music, the members of da Capo Brass have one basic thing in common — each graduated from UNCG's School of Music, Theatre and Dance. For years they have rehearsed together and performed all over the nation. Now the group has released its first CD, “From the Beginning.”
