Cultural and Diversity Health Care Issues

Explore issues relevant to health issues and problems of people from American Indian, African American, Hispanic and Montagnard cultures who live in the Triad area.

The panel discussion, titled “Cultural and Diversity Health Care Issues in the Triad,” will be April 7, 3 p.m., in EUC’s Cone Ballroom.

It is open to all members of the UNCG community. No registration is required.

It is sponsored by the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the School of Nursing.

Through the panel discussion, attendees will have an opportunity to have open dialogue with expert representatives of several cultural groups.

Speakers will include:

  • Dr. Ronny A. Bell, professor, Department of Epidemiology and Prevention, Division of Public Health Sciences; and director, Maya Angelou Center for Health Equity, Wake Forest University Health Sciences
  • Dr. Sylvia A. Flack, executive director, Center of Excellence for Elimination of Health Disparities, Winston-Salem State University
  • Marie Miranda, public health consultant, Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities
  • Y Hyn Nie, Montagnard outreach coordinator, Senior Resources of Guilford
