Aging is Good Business: Opportunities for Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurial opportunities are increasing among aging populations. The university’s Gerontology Program invites you to attend, sponsor, exhibit or advertise at the 5th annual one-day summit Wednesday, April 14, in Cone Ballroom, EUC.

Presentations will be from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Preregistration is required

Presentations include:

  • “Free Agent Aging: Reinventing Ourselves in the Second Half of Life” presented by H. R. “Rick” Moody, PhD, Director, Academic Affairs, AARP, Washington, DC.
  • “Entrepreneurship Opportunities” presented by Dianne H.B. Welsh, SPHR, PhD, Hayes Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship, and Director of the North Carolina Entrepreneurship Center, UNCG
  • “The Surprising Prevalence of Later-Life Entrepreneurship” presented by Edward G. Rogoff, MBA, PhD, Professor of Management, Baruch College, City University of New York.
  • “The New Entrepreneurial Models of Aging” presented by David L. Carroll, MA, Writer and Producer specializing in health and aging issues.

Enjoy a continental breakfast, luncheon and afternoon round table discussions facilitated by experienced entrepreneurs and experts on aging. They can provide feedback on ideas for entrepreneurial opportunities.

The conference is sponsored by the UNCG Gerontology Program and the NC Entrepreneurship Center.
