Art After Dark with Lynn Book

033110EyeOnArts_BookWant to explore how everyday actions are full of meaning and creative potential? Take part in the Art After Dark workshop “Movement: Embodied Acts” with Lynn Book. It will be Thursday, April 8, 6:30-8 p.m.

Participants will investigate simple actions performed with mundane objects, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. Bring three objects to the workshop: something flat, something long and something that contains.

Lynn Book’s 25-year history of interdisciplinary artistic practice crosses boundaries between performance art, dance, theatre, visual art, language and new music forms. Her performance work has received citations, fellowships and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, Illinois Arts Council, Franklin Furnace, and Mary Duke Biddle Foundation. She is currently visiting associate professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance and program director for Creativity and Innovation at Wake Forest University.

No experience is needed. For details and to reserve a space: weatherspoon@uncg.edu or call 4-5770. Admission is free.
