UNCG Campus Weekly

Campus Weekly is published each Wednesday when classes are in session. In the summer, it is published biweekly.

Which Recipes from Faculty/Staff Are the Finalists?

Spartan Chefs finalists have been announced. In November, Dining Services and Human Resource Services asked faculty and staff about the economical, healthy dishes they cooked for themselves.

The UNCG Dining Services web site received 40 healthy and economical recipe submissions for the Spartan Chef competition. After careful review, six finalists were selected:

Katie Fennell’s ‘Curried Broccoli Soup’
Jenny Williams ‘Kale Salad’
Helen Sedwick’s ‘Beef Stew’
Teresa Nordan’s ‘Garry Chicken Stuff’
Joella Anderson’s ‘Jalapeno Baked Beans’
Shearin Whitfield’s ‘Sante Fe Soup’

Every Wednesday and Friday, beginning Feb. 15, Dining Services will feature one Spartan Chefs recipe in the Spartan Restaurant during lunch (11a.m.-2 p.m.). If you are there, be sure to have a taste – or more than a taste! Want the recipe for yourself? Simply visit http://www.dineoncampus.com/uncg/show.cfm?cmd=showRecipes, to view these as well as other recipe submissions from fellow faculty and staff.

The Spartan Chef Healthy and Economical recipe competition is co-sponsored by Human Resource Services and Dining Services.

The winner will be announced in March.
