022311CampusPeople_DurhamDaniel Durham is UNCG’s new Director of Facilities Operations. A registered professional engineer, Durham had been assistant director, Facilities Operations and Maintenance, at the Medical College of Georgia (Augusta). He received his BS in mechanical engineering from NC State and his MBA from Augusta State University. UNCG’s former director, Steve Siler, retired in December.

022311CampusPeople_BarrMatt Barr (Media Studies), the director of the documentary “Wild Caught” about the decline of fishing in the Eastern North Carolina town of Sneads Ferry, will be the guest of the only festival in the world dedicated to films about commercial fishermen, Le Festival des Pecheurs du Monde, in Lorient, Brittany, France, on March 26. He will meet with artisanal fishermen from all over the world in the culmination of a long record of screenings, film festivals and political advocacy since the film was completed in 2006.
