Marketing Campaigns Launched for UNCG Programs

031611NewsAndNotes_ConflictThe Division of Continual Learning (DCL), in conjunction with various academic programs and departments, has launched several integrated campaigns designed to boost awareness and enrollment in specific UNCG programs.

The UNCG in 3 campaign — highlighting UNCG’s accelerated bachelor’s degree program — launched in early February. DCL organized focus groups with current UNCG in 3 students, discovering their motivation to enroll and the program’s perceived benefits.

“These students are so motivated,” says Jaap-Jan van Duin, DCL’s new director of marketing & communications. “They know where they are going in life, and a bachelor’s degree is the next step in getting to their destination.”

DCL, which houses the Office of Online Learning, developed several campaigns for graduate programs that feature online courses. The Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) campaign launched a couple of weeks ago, as did campaigns for the Master of Arts in Conflict and Peace Studies, the Bryan School’s online Master of Science in Information Technology and Management, and the online Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Information Technology Management.

“In order to drive demand for UNCG’s programs, all campaigns use compelling creative concepts and very targeted, integrated storytelling,” says van Duin. “They use relevant media — including web, online, print and radio advertising as well as collateral and PR — to achieve awareness and enrollment objectives.”

Launching this month is the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (BLS) marketing campaign – highlighting the program’s new Social Sciences concentration. In mid-April, the Office of Online Learning plans to launch an umbrella campaign for all online learning at UNCG.
