Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition

042711EyeOnArts_MFAThe Weatherspoon Art Museum will present its 2011 UNCG Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition April 30-June 5.

The exhibition features work by six artists in the Department of Art graduate program: Amanda Nicholas (drawing), Andrew Etheridge (sculpture), Isabelle Abbot (painting), Jody Christian (drawing), Jonathan Cobbs (painting/sculpture), and Maurice Moore (drawing).

The artists in this graduating class use a variety of media and focus on an array of issues. Their MFA exhibition demonstrates the energy and commitment of the artists, who engaged in numerous critiques by faculty, visiting artists, and their peers to develop significant bodies of work. We wish them success as they begin to navigate the greater landscape of the contemporary art world.

The exhibition opening and public reception will be on Sunday, May 1, at 2 p.m. at the Weatherspoon. In addition, a Noon @ the ‘Spoon exhibition tour by MFA students is scheduled for May 10, at noon.
