UNCG Campus Weekly

Campus Weekly is published each Wednesday when classes are in session. In the summer, it is published biweekly.

Two for a dollar, at Cram and Scram 2011

What do you do with everything left behind in the residence halls from the 2010-11 academic year? You sell it – everyone two for a dollar.

The Office of Waste Reduction and Recycling has accumulated clothing, books, decorations, electronics, shoes, nonperishable food and many other odds and ends, and they will all be on sale.

Cram and Scram will be in EUC’s Cone Ballroom on Saturday, June 4, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. This sale is open to the public. Free parking will be available in the Walker Ave. Parking Deck. All items will be sold for 50 cents and the proceeds will go to the UNCG Environmental Learning Opportunities, says Ben Kunka.

The Cram and Scram program began at UNCG 10 years ago as a response to the amount of material thrown out by students leaving for the summer. It’s aim is to avoid sending new or lightly used items into the landfill and put them into the hands of the UNCG community. Every year around 8-12 tons of material are diverted from the landfill, saving the university resources and giving the items new life.

Correct change is appreciated; the sale is cash only. Unsold items will be donated to Goodwill.
