Key dates as 2011-12 year begins

The biggest date before classes begin is the morning of Aug. 17, with the State of the Campus address followed by Excellence Awards Ceremony and the opening luncheon. The following are a number of events/dates to mark on your calendar, as the 2011-12 year begins:

Graduate teaching assistants workshop Friday, Aug. 12, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Location is to be determined.

HRS New Faculty Benefits Orientation Aug. 15-16, 8:30 a.m. or 1 p.m., Room 113, Bryan Building. Email e_foust@uncg.edu indicating which session (date & time) you will be attending. Human Resource Services will give a presentation on UNCG benefits programs. Representatives from the retirement companies: Fidelity, Lincoln, Valic and TIAA-CREF will be present at the orientation to address questions about the Optional Retirement Program.

Chancellor’s State of the Campus Address Chancellor Chancellor Brady will address the UNCG community on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 10 a.m., in Aycock Auditorium.

Faculty and staff excellence awards ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, in Aycock Auditorium.

Opening Luncheon All UNCG Faculty and Staff are invited to the Opening Luncheon scheduled for August 17 at 11:15 a.m. in the University Dining Hall.

New Faculty Orientation provides an overview of UNCG services and people. Special emphasis is given to providing new faculty members with information about support services for teaching and research efforts. It will begin Aug. 17 at 1:30 p.m. Questions? Email meharris@uncg.edu.

iSpartan Email & UNCGenie Training Learn how to use the iSpartan email system and how to access a number of useful Faculty Services via the UNCGenie Administrative Services Web Platform. Services include: Get your own Class Rosters, Issue Registration Overrides, Look up Student Data, Get your Advisee List w/Advising Codes, View Advisee Transcripts, View Degree Evaluations for Advisees and more.
