Real-world ways to reduce your stress

Two studies conducted at UNCG last year indicated that stress and balancing home and work life demands are increasing for everyone, says Michelle Cathorall, director of Healthy UNCG. To address this, HealthyUNCG has partnered with the Counseling and Educational Development department to develop and present a series of workshops on stress reduction. All workshops will be held in the EUC from noon-1 p.m. Details are available on the HealthyUNCG Google Calendar. Employees can earn Spartan Points for for attending Brown Bag lunches.

Topics for fall include:

  • Mindfulness for Stress Reduction, Oct. 8
  • Life Balance and Wellness, Oct. 23
  • Spirituality and Stress Management, Nov. 14

Topics for the spring semester are:

  • Assertiveness Communication for stress reduction, Jan. 29
  • Sleep as a stress reduction strategy, Feb. 26
  • Social Networking and Stress Management (date tbd)
