NSF official will speak on proposal submissions, funding levels, trends

Dr. Leslie Rissler, Acting Division Director for Environmental Biology at the National Science Foundation, will visit UNCG and the Biology Department on Monday, February 11.

She will give a public lecture, at 4 p.m., on proposal submissions, funding levels, trends, and policies/programs to diversify the sciences at the NSF. She will discuss new data on the numbers of women in science, according to field and career stage, and how those numbers have evolved over time. Rissler will also present on NSF solicitations and policies designed to diversify the sciences. She will also meet with faculty, graduate students, and post docs, throughout the day.

Reception is at 3:30 p.m. The presentation is from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m, in EUC Auditorium. The lecture is open to faculty and research administration staff in the Triad.
