Beginning in 1893, the University Seal has appeared on every diploma awarded by the university. The head of Minerva appears in the center.
The University seal is reserved for formal academic ceremonies, legal applications, diplomas and official certificates. The seal is not a communications mark for identifying the university; that is the job of the university logos.
The seal may not be altered, modified, disassembled, reproportioned or flopped.
The seal may be downloaded as a vector-based Adobe Illustrator EPS files as well as a GIF file. EPS files will provide the highest possible resolution and are used primarily in professional printing and production. A GIF file will work well in Microsoft Office applications.
